About this course
The complete IoT course follows one idea from end to end: a physical measurement becomes useful information on a screen and, when needed, triggers an action back in the real world. You build the device, the communication path, the back end and the dashboard, and learn how the parts affect each other.
It is designed for learners who already understand basic electronics and programming and want to see the whole stack together. Time is spent on design decisions, failure handling and documentation, because those are what separate a demo from something that can be maintained.
Who is this course for?
- Learners who have finished Arduino or ESP32 basics
- Final-year students planning a complete system
- Software developers entering IoT
- Professionals who want a full-stack overview
Eligibility
For learners with some microcontroller and programming experience. Exact eligibility is confirmed at enrollment.
Prerequisites recommended
Basic Arduino or ESP32 programming, and familiarity with simple Python or JavaScript. Beginners can complete IoT Fundamentals and Arduino first.

Outcomes, career directions and limits
Skills you should be able to demonstrate
- Design an IoT system from requirements to deployment plan
- Build and connect a device, broker and dashboard
- Handle disconnects, retries and basic failure cases
- Apply basic security practices to credentials and communication
- Document an IoT project clearly enough for others to reproduce
Relevant career directions
- IoT application development trainee roles after further practice
- Prototype and proof-of-concept development
- Foundation for AIoT and Industrial IoT specialisation
What this course does not do
- It is an integration course: depth in any single area such as firmware or cloud is limited by the span of topics.
- Large-scale cloud architecture, device fleet management and compliance are outside the scope.
Career outcomes depend on your skills, portfolio, experience and employer requirements. No course can guarantee a job.

How is this different from the ESP32 course?
The ESP32 course focuses on the wireless device. This course covers the whole system: device, gateway, broker, back end, dashboard and security, with a capstone project.
Which cloud platform is used?
The emphasis is on transferable concepts: MQTT, REST and dashboards. Specific platforms and any free-tier accounts used are confirmed by the training team.
Can I take this directly as a beginner?
It assumes basic microcontroller and programming knowledge. Beginners are advised to start with IoT Fundamentals and Arduino.
Will I get a project I can show?
Yes. The capstone is designed so that you finish with a working, documented system and a clear explanation of your design decisions.
